A unique opportunity for horse lovers to truly immerse themselves and experience the joy of being with, and riding horses day after day along the stunning Wild Coast of South Africa.
Riders can stay at a reduced rate for extended periods of time. Perfect for those taking a career break, looking to travel for longer periods of time, those who work remotely, as well as gap year students or university students on holiday.
Our favorite saying is 'Eat, Sleep, Ride, Repeat', and on the Wild Coast Equestrian Escape you can do just that! Riders can stay much longer, and ride a lot more!
Guests have the option of two rides a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. You can take adventage of every ride, or pick and choose when you would like to join in.
Many people who opt to stay longer enjoy getting stuck in with staff, helping to care for the trail horses, although this is completely optional. Riders can be involved with caring for the horses as much or as little as you like.
Escape from everyday life for a while, ride along spectacular beaches famous for their beauty, blow all your cares away, reconnect with your horsey side, and immerse yourself in riding and live like a local in a rural seaside village.
Digital nomads and students, who work and study remotely are welcome; there is uncapped wi-fi at the accommodation, making this the perfect getaway! Printing and scanning facilities are also available, and a desk is provided on request in your room.

Depending on how long you decide to stay, you may also take advantage of a free 'Riding with Touch' workshop, and a free three days mini beach trail up the coast to Wavecrest Hotel.
RIDING WITH TOUCH WORKSHOP
Included in any length of stay, from 2-12 weeks.
Take part in a one day ‘Riding with Touch Workshop’ run by Klara Webb. This is an introduction to Ride with Your Mind and TTouch methodologies.
These holistic principles are part of the foundation that the Wild Coast horse's schooling has been built upon, and what makes them exceptional trail horses.
Klara is a SAEF level 1 instructor (The equivalant of a BHS Ttouch Equine Practitioner.
With new found skills and perceptions to apply to the horses for the rest of your stay, it will change your mindset on how horses and riders are connected.
MINI BEACH TRAIL
Included in a 4-11 week stay.
A 2 night, 3 day jaunt up the coast to Wavecrest Hotel & Spa. This is a super 3 full days of riding, exploring and adventure.
WILD COAST HORSE TRAIL
Included in a 12 week stay.
A seven night, eight day adventure along the coast, staying at a different location each evening.
DAILY ROUTINE
Riders on the Wild Coast Equestrian Escape are welcome to participate in, and be part of, the daily routine of caring for the herd of trail horses.
The horses live out year round as a herd, in paddocks situated at the Kei Mouth Country Club about 2.5km from the house where guests stay.
The horses are brought in twice a day for feeding, grooming and a once over.
The mornings are spent riding and schooling the horses , or going out on a beach or bush ride. These rides are usually between 1.5 - 4 hours long, depending on the destination.
Afternoon rides are a little shorter, bewteen 1.5 - 3 hours. There may also be some full day rides, with a picnic lunch.
Your riding program will be tailored to suit you, and is fairly flexible. If you feel like staying home, or going on a day out and missing a ride, this is absolutely fine.

14 nights is the minimum stay time on the Wild Coast Equestrian Escape.

Included: All riding; beach rides in Kei Mouth and Morgan Bay, and full day rides to the Transkei. Every guest will also have the option of a free, one day 'Riding with Touch' workshop.
Accommodation (including wi-fi), breakfast and dinner, laundry.
Excluded: Flights, insurance, airport transfers.
A two night, three day Mini Beach Trail is included in the four week to twelve week stays.
A twelve week stay also includes a free 7 night Wild Coast Horse Trail.
ACCOMMODATION
Equestrian escape riders stay at Nguni House, in Kei Mouth.
Named after the Nguni cows, which are famous for hanging out on the beaches on the Wild Coast, Nguni House has 4 double rooms and two bathrooms.
The house has a comfortable open plan living and dining room with French doors into the garden. There is also a covered braai (barbeque) patio in the garden.
The kitchen is an old-fashioned, farm style kitchen, with everything you need, and space to store snacks and drinks.
